Lighting candles in the Adoration Chapel is important to many parishioners and visitors to St. James Church. Parish volunteers keep the candles in the Adoration Chapel and the church replenished and their glass containers clean. Every day a volunteer is assigned to check the candles in the Chapel and church. The volunteer visits at his or her convenience.Candle care at St. James Church requires approximately thirty minutes once a month. Volunteers replace the candles in their glass containers, wipe up any spilled wax and clean out soiled glass containers. Volunteers are notified of their assignments regularly. The weekly candle care ministers are also listed in the "Good News".
