Jesus calls Levi to be his disciple. Levi has an unpopular job - he's a tax collector. But he doesn't do it justly. I can see that many times I am a Levi. I don't treat others with love and compassion. Justice is minimal in many of my relationships. I meet immediate needs but not underlying causes of problems. If Jesus can change Levi, I can be the "repairer of the breach" and I, too, can let my light shine. Turn to me, says the Lord. Get up and turn, physically, as a sign that you, too, can turn and follow Jesus. Reminder: Rice Bowls are in the Narthex
with great suggestions for Lenten sacrifices. Lenten
regulations are in this week's Good News along with many Lenten activities. |
