Epiphany of the Lord

Reading and Reflection

Reading I:  Isaiah 60: 1 - 6
Responsorial Psalm:   Psalm 72: 1 - 2, 7 - 8, 10 - 11, 12 - 13
Reading II:  Ephesians 3: 2 - 3, 5 - 6
Gospel :   Matthew 2: 1 - 12

The three kings were told to "go and search diligently" which they had already started to do on their own.   They were delighted to find the child and do him homage.   How do we "go and search diligently"?   All of us are challenged to continue to grow in faith and knowledge.   It may mean leaving the security of what we know and ask questions that have no answers but the answers within our souls.   When we do find God, it is joy and we want to bring God our most precious gifts.   We can go and search through prayer, through study, through service, through self sacrifice.   So we pray for one another that we may have the courage and diligence to go and search.
