Friday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time

Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul, Apostle

Reading and Reflection

Reading I:   Acts 22:3-16 or Acts 9:1-22
Responsorial Psalm:   Psalm 117:1bc, 2
Gospel:   Mark 16:15-18

Tonight at dinner my husband shocked me by saying, "The peas were good."   I struggle to get green vegetables into him and he usually makes fun of peas whenever I serve them because I end up eating them all myself.   He is housebound and eating a lot right now and so he tried them and they weren't so bad.   It was a good reminder to me that people can change and I don't always believe that they can.

Saul became Paul.   Not just an apathetic, non-believer, but a staunch opponent of Christians, completely changed and became a great leader.   Let us all think of the people who we have doubted will ever be faith-filled, and pray for them right now.   They can change - and so can we.   There are areas of our lives that we haven't turned over to God, but we can.  Our faith will beget others faith.   Let us pray, "Lord, help our unbelief and the unbelief of the people you bring into our lives."
