Wednesday of Holy Week

Reading and Reflection

First Reading:   Isaiah 50: 4 - 9 a
Responsorial Psalm:   Psalm 69: 8 - 10, 21 - 22, 31, 33 - 34
Gospel:   Matthew 26: 14 - 25

The other day our Bible Study group met for prayer and examination of conscience.   We took the Our Father, word by word or phrase by phrase and reflected on our faith.   Although I listed many ways I have fallen short of fully living these powerful words, I knew I was forgiven and loved.   There are many times when I sin that I feel I am so much like Judas, I share in the dish with Jesus, yet I betray Him.   His sacrifice has freed me from that sin.   I grieve the death he endures and the powerful liturgies this week will take me from the depths of grief to the heights of joy.

Please come to any or all of these beautiful services.

Today let us pray for St. James Parish and the Pastoral Staff.

The readings can be accessed at  http://www.usccb.org/nab/readings/031908.shtml  This is an easy click to the daily readings.  Use the back button on your browser to return to the reflection.    We continue to build this ministry and pray for parishioners to contribute monthly.
