Monday of Easter Week

Reading and Reflection

Reading I:   Acts 2:14, 22-33
Responsorial Psalm:  Psalm 16:1-2a, 5, 7-8, 9-10, 11
Gospel:   Matthew 28:8-15

I saw the Lord ever before me,
with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed.
Therefore my heart has been glad and my tongue has exulted;
my flesh, too, will dwell in hope,
because you will not abandon my soul to the nether world,
nor will you suffer your holy one to see corruption.
You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence.

These powerful words from our first reading could be our song today, too.   What a joy and a relief we feel.   We have started over, fresh, and full of knowledge that we are loved unconditionally.   God is with us and God loves us.   What can we do in return?

A word of thanks to all who made our Holy Week come together from priests to ushers, cooks to teachers, gardeners to cleaners, lectors to musicians, and candidates to elect.   THANK YOU!

ALLELUIA!

Today let us pray for St. James Parish and the Pastoral Staff.

     The readings can be accessed at  http://www.usccb.org/nab/readings/032408.shtml  This is an easy click to the daily readings.  Use the back button on your browser to return to the reflection.    We continue to build this ministry and pray for parishioners to contribute monthly.
