Service Opportunities at St. James and throughout the Archdiocese

Currently at St. James:

    The First Sunday of every month is Pantry and Stewardship Sunday

     The Community Concerns Committee will distribute bags once a month to be filled with items for various shelters and agencies such as the Stephen Center and Siena/Francis House.

 

Siena/Francis House and Homeless Shelter, 1702 Nicholas St., Omaha, 68102 needs:  5/08
    Kitchen:Coffee, canned vegetables, canned fruit, cooking oil, beef and chicken base, salad dressing, mayonnaise, butter/margarine, packets of salt, pepper, sugar, mustard
    Paper Products: styrofoam or hot/cold cups 9 oz, cold cups 5 oz,  trash can liners, (45 and 55 gallon), toilet paper (greatest need)
    Housekeeping: bleach, disinfectant cleaners, cleaners for showers, tubs, stools, sinks, automatic dishwasher, soap, powdered laundry detergent, twin sheets, blankets, bath towels, wash cloths
    Toiletries: deodorant, lip chap, toothbrushes, disposable razors, hotel size soap, shampoo, conditioner, foot power, feminine hygiene products, sunscreen
    Clothing room: tennis shoes, work boots, jeans for men and women, shorts for men and women, socks, underwear, flip-flops, spring jackets

     Miscellaneous:  Day planners, book bags, PG/G movies, fingernail polish/remover, makeup, hair ties, clips, notebooks, journals, pens, stationery sets, candle sets, CD/Radio players, disposable cameras, relaxation tapes or videos
Shelter Needs:
     Sheet sets (twin), bath towels, kitchen dish towels, food storage containers, sets of dishes, pans, baking pans, infant clothing and toys, umbrella strollers, baby power/bath/lotion



Habitat for Humanity Wish List: new computers and software, computer networking services, new flat bed truck, scissor lifts, vacant lots in south and north Omaha, New roof for the main office/warehouse, ongoing donation of tools and building equipment.
